Off-road trek to the top of Meenmutty Falls | Kallar river | Trivandrum | Kerala

Meenmutty Falls, located about 45 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, India, offers a glimpse of the natural beauty surrounded by the Western Ghats mountain ranges. The waterfall is located upriver from the Neyyar reservoir area, and visitors must trek through dense forests to reach it.

From here, adventurous minds are invited to take a detour to the top of Meenmutty Falls. To get to the destination, take a boat ride through the catchment area of the Neyyar dam. After reaching the KombaiKani tribal settlement, the trek to the Meenmutty waterfalls begins, which is about 5 kilometers from the settlement and KombaiKani waterfalls. The Kombaikani waterfall is a wide fall on the Neyyar River.

A forest camp house is nearby, where trekkers can rest and eat. This trek, which requires permission from the forest department, will be accompanied by forest guides. An ideal destination for a one-day trek, the boat will pick you up from KombaiKani and drop you off at Neyyar Dam in the evening.
