Eviction of seafaring indigenous Bajau tribe from Malaysia

Hundreds of Bajau Laut, a seafaring indigenous tribe in Malaysia, have been evicted from their homes in Semporna, Sabah.

These Sea Nomads are found seafaring between Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.

They are deprived of any citizenship and basic fundamental rights. Meant as master of the Seas, the Bajau are now facing new-age issues due to rapid urbanisation.
