Natxo Gonzalez Scores the First Perfect 10-Point Ride Ever at Praia do Norte in Nazaré

The big wave surfer from the Basque country is the first athlete to earn a Perfect 10-point score from the judges in Praia do Norte.

Natxo Gonzalez took off on a huge wave, got barreled, and found the exit. The stunt took place during the 2018/2019 Nazaré Challenge, in Portugal.

Gonzalez, who finished third, showed the performance potential that Nazaré can offer.

"It was the best I've seen Nazaré and I surfed one of the craziest waves of my life," said Natxo Gonzalez.

"To do it in front of thousands of people and surrounded by my friends and family makes this a dream day."

Nazaré big wave surfing pioneer Garrett McNamara later called it, "the greatest thing I've seen at Nazaré."
