Back to Basics: Cold Process Soap Making

The December 2021 Soap Challenge Club was a blind challenge that "challenged" us to go back to the basics and create a soap with clean lines, good uniformed color, minimal air bubbles, and soap void of imperfections like soda ash. Secondary to that was color matching and using colors from a given color pallet.

This was an interesting challenge and I actually did enjoy it. For the challenge I created a set of 4 soap scrapers that would help me create five layers with perfectly clean lines between each layer. (You can find the scrapers on my webpage if you're interested in them). I stuck with classic straight lines, because it's classic and it creates a clean visually appealing soap. My color matching and smoothness was pretty good! There were air bubbles, but they weren't awful and I haven't met a soap yet that doesn't have a few air bubbles :D!
