Funimation Is Officially Shutting Down!

And the alternative is… expensive

A few years ago funimation announced that themselves and crunchyroll were merging and everything on funimation would be transferred to crunchyroll, so there’s no loss to the users.

A recent press release announced that the merge will be completed by the 2nd of April and funimation will shut down for good, but also become a lot more expensive for users.

A crunchyroll annual subscription in 2025 will now cost $100 which is way too expensive with a $20 increase, and it’s rumoured that all the shows on funimation WON'T come over to crunchyroll due to licensing issues, so you pay more for less!
