Join us in person or virtually to learn more about career Life magazine photographer Ralph Morse! In 1942 Morse was hired at the age of 24 and was the youngest full-time war correspondent working on behalf of the United States. Over the course of an incredible career that began with his landing with the Marines at Guadalcanal, Morse would go on to take some of the most famous photographs of World War II. This lecture will cover Morse’s WWII exploits, as well as his time with baseball legend Jackie Robinson—and how Morse earned the nickname, “the 8th Astronaut.”

This Lunchbox Lecture is free and open to the public to attend in The National WWII Museum’s Hall of Democracy Auditorium. For those unable to make it to the Museum’s campus, the lecture will also be livestreamed on Facebook and Vimeo and will be available as a recording after the fact on both platforms.
