My name is Jonathan Rosenfeld and I’m an attorney who represents people who have developed Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and other cancers due to exposure to an herbicide product known as Roundup.

Roundup is manufactured by the chemical giant Bayer and is used in many different agricultural settings to control weeds and grasses that may compete with crops. The breadth of Roundup usage is just downright amazing. Hundreds of millions of pounds are used on crops every year. Virtually every person who works on a farm or in the field of agriculture is likely exposed to it to a certain degree. Millions of additional people used Roundup around their homes.

What all these people don’t know is that Monsanto and the subsequent manufacturer Bayer, has known for some time that exposure to Roundup can cause cancer. This is a failure to warn is the basis for the approximately 43,000 cases filed in Federal and State courts across the U.S. Recently, several of these cases have gone to trial with substantial verdicts handed down against the manufacturers.

In June 2018 a jury in California awarded the plaintiffs $289 million, in February 2019 a trial resulted in an $80 million verdict, and the most recent trial which ended in May 2019 resulted in a verdict of over $2 billion. Many of these cases have made newspapers and television news. As a result, some people have begun asking about a settlement of Roundup lawsuits.

As of today's date, there is no official settlement of Roundup lawsuits. However, given a series of new trials set to begin in early 2020, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the corporate defendants come to the bargaining table and try to resolve these cases. The truth is that we simply don’t know when these cases will be resolved.

However, my suggestion is that if you think that you or a family member has medical complications such as Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, leukemia, mantle cell lymphoma, B-cell lymphoma, or hairy cell leukemia and worked in an industry such as farming, landscaping, groundskeeping, or even spent time working in a garden supply store that you contact an attorney as soon as feasible. Like all cases, lawsuits against Roundup must be filed within specific time constraint or your case will be barred by the statute of limitations.
