This week was a quieter one, with a lot of behind-the-scenes work that doesn’t always make the cut on camera. I spent some time getting my new camera set up, which should really help elevate future videos. I also tackled the bathroom cleanup—dust, drywall mud, and all the leftover chaos—then finished the paint touchups. There are still a few small tasks left up there, but with the new light installed, the space is finally starting to feel done in a big way.
Vayla brought so much joy into the week, as always, and I’m grateful to have her right beside me through all of this.
I finally received a few of the pieces I’d been waiting on to continue the electrical wire pulls for the dining room and foyer lights. And I pressure washed the fence boards that will become the new porch skirting. When I look back at where the porch and dining room were when I first moved in, the progress is real. The porch is looking so much better… the dining room is still deep in process, but that’s part of the journey.
Projects can wear on me sometimes, but I really do love this work.
Next week should bring more of that finished feeling, but for now, I’m making steady progress.
