Revelation 9.11_21 Two Hundred Million Horseman
KING OVER THEM: The beast ascends from the Bottomless Pit at the end of the witness of the two anointed ones, “And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the Bottomless Pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them” (Revelation 11:7). Since the Antichrist himself would already be on the earth at this time, this king is a spiritual being who enters the physical body of the Antichrist and thus becomes Satan incarnate.
There is much conjecture on the identity of the Antichrist. Through the years, Christians have labeled various religious and political leaders as this “man of sin” including Nero, Constantine, William Jefferson Clinton, Henry Kissinger, and nearly every Pope who has ever worn the crown, to name a few. Biblical evidence points more toward an individual we are more familiar with—Judas Iscariot! Consider the following summary.
1. Judas is “a devil” (John 6:70-71)
2. Judas is Satan incarnate (Luke 22:3, just as Jesus is God incarnate)
3. There is a king over the Bottomless Pit whose name is Apollyon or Abaddon. These two words mean “perdition” (Revelation 9:11)
4. The Antichrist is called “the son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
5. Judas is called “the son of perdition” (John 17:12)
6. The Antichrist “was, is not and shall be.” Judas certainly could fit this description. (Revelation 17:8)
7. Judas went to his “own place” (Acts 1:25).
8. There are two other men who have their “own place” and both are types of the Antichrist (Genesis 31:55 and 2 Samuel 18:18)
9. He is the idol shepherd of Zechariah 11:17 who sold Jesus for 30 pieces of silver in Zechariah 11:12
ABADDON … APOLLYON: When the Greek or Hebrew language is essential God uses it in the English text and defines it for the Bible student.
HEBREW TONGUE … GREEK TONGUE: Both names are provided in both languages indicating that Jew and Gentile will come under the power of the tormentor.
Revelation 9:12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter. 13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
ONE WOE IS PAST: We are not told of the first woe beginning (Revelation 9:1) but know when it ends here in verse 12.
FOUR HORNS OF THE GOLDEN ALTAR: The location of the cry displays the depth of the sin. These horns were where men found mercy on the day of atonement as they upheld the blood. Now, mercy is exhausted and even the horns are crying out for vengeance.
THE FOUR ANGELS: These are not the same angels as those in Revelation 7:1-3. Those stand on the extremities of the earth holding back the forces of evil; these are found bound in the Euphrates and they let loose the means of destruction.
EUPHRATES: The river is the largest river in western Asia, rising in Turkey it flows for 1,780 miles on a south-westerly course through Turkey, Syria, and Iraq to the Persian Gulf. Cross-referencing this passage with Revelation 16:12 shows that the four angels are responsible for leading the “kings of the east” across the Euphrates River.
These kings represent a plurality of nations. In the 1960s, China boasted that it could mount 200 million horsemen. Should EMP devices be deployed that fry all circuitry, armies are likely going to resort back to horses for transportation.
PREPARED: These four angels were prepared for this specific event. The text states that they have been bound in the river and must be loosed to battle. This would indicate they have been there a very long time. When they are loosed, they have a specific and exact timetable within which they are working.
A DAY, AND A MONTH, AND A YEAR: If this refers to a span of time, it equates to thirteen months plus one day (one year (360) plus one month (30) plus one day) which equals 391 days.
TO SLAY: men desired to die for five months with the locusts—it was not their time.
THIRD PART OF MEN: When the fourth seal was opened in Revelation 6:8, one-fourth of the inhabitants of earth died. These two events in today’s numbers would equate to the death of over 2.5 billion people.
ARMY OF THE HORSEMEN WERE TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND THOUSAND: The moment the angels are released from their bonds, the earth is overrun by 200,000,000 death-dealing calvary. Elijah rode horses and chariots of fire (2 Kings 2:11), and Jesus Christ and His armies ride from the third Heaven to earth on horses (Revelation 19:11-14). Here the hosts of Hell also have their mounts.
HORSES: In the notes on verse 10, many suggestions were mentioned concerning the speculation concerning the imagery of
