Wes Streeting Labels Rishi Sunak "Small And Petty" For Not Apologising For His Trans Comments

Labour MP Wes Streeting joins TalkTV’s Vanessa Feltz to criticise Rishi Sunak for making a trans joke while Brianna Ghey’s mum was in Parliament.

Streeting says: “Surely the murder of a trans girl like Brianna should remind all of us of the responsibility we bear to conduct our debates in politics with more respect.”

It comes as Sunak is facing calls to apologise for a jibe about Sir Keir Starmer's position on trans people at Prime Minister's Questions.

The Prime Minister ridiculed the Labour leader for U-turning on the "definition of a woman", with Sir Keir visibly furious, saying: "Of all the weeks to say that when Brianna's mother is in this chamber."

Brianna Ghey's mother Esther was not in the public gallery for the exchange but entered shortly afterwards.

Later, Mr Sunak ignored a call from Labour MP Liz Twist to "apologise to Brianna Ghey's mother", while presenter Carol Vorderman also called for the Prime Minister to resign.
