Lakshya Manthan: The Ultimate Analytics Showdown - A Report on the National Level Intercollegiate Management Fest.
AIMS IBS Business School, Bengaluru, successfully organized its national level intercollegiate management fest, "Lakshya," on April 9th, 2025. Among the diverse and engaging events conducted under this banner, "Lakshya Manthan: The Ultimate Analytics Showdown" stood out as a rigorous test of business analytics acumen.
The Lakshya Manthan event themed "Think Fast. Analyze Smart. Lead the Future," aimed to challenge participants' analytical thinking, data-driven decision-making, and strategic foresight through three distinct rounds. The event garnered enthusiastic participation from approximately nine colleges, showcasing the competitive spirit and intellectual prowess of budding management professionals.
The initial round, "Data Sprint," focused on evaluating participants' speed and accuracy in interpreting data and applying logical reasoning to business scenarios. Teams of three tackled a 30-minute quiz comprising MCQs on data interpretation and logical reasoning questions. The emphasis was on quick thinking and efficient problem-solving, with top-performing teams advancing to the subsequent stage.
"Strategy Lab," the second round, presented teams with a real-world business crisis and a corresponding dataset. Within a 45-minute timeframe, participants were tasked with identifying key issues, analyzing trends, and proposing a data-backed business solution. The round culminated in a concise 5-minute presentation outlining their problem identification, proposed action plan, and expected impact. The judging criteria emphasized decision-making, analytical depth, presentation clarity, and time management.
The final and most challenging round, "Future Quest," pushed the top five teams to forecast industry trends and develop a disruptive business strategy for a given company and industry over the next 5-10 years. A mid-way "Market Shock" introduced an element of unpredictability, demanding swift adaptation and strategic agility. The final 2-minute TED Talk-style presentations focused on visionary thinking, innovation, adaptability, and overall presentation skills.
The successful execution of Lakshya Manthan was facilitated by the dedicated efforts of the faculty coordinator, Prof. Venkatesh Raghunathan, and the student coordinator, Panchu Parkavi, along with other committed discipline team members. The expertise and impartial evaluation were provided by the esteemed judge, Prof. Sabarish.
After a series of intense and intellectually stimulating rounds, the team from Adarsh Institute of Management & Information Technology, Bengaluru, emerged as the champions of Lakshya Manthan. They were awarded a cash prize of ₹5000 and winning certificates, recognizing their exceptional analytical skills and strategic thinking.
Lakshya Manthan proved to be a resounding success, providing a valuable platform for students to test their business analytics capabilities, learn from real-world scenarios, and network with peers from different institutions.
