Find out how “DOTS” fights TB in India

Описание к видео Find out how “DOTS” fights TB in India

India is classified as a high burden tuberculosis (TB) country by the World Health Organization. The National TB Control Program of India implements the World Health Organization’s DOTS strategy (directly observed treatment short-course) to fight TB around the world and in India. All the patients registered under the Indian TB program receive medical advice from trained doctors, diagnosis service and high quality TB medicines under the supervision of healthcare providers, free of charge.

Sandoz, in association with the National TB program, developed a patient education film to create awareness about TB and the DOTS treatment strategy provided at TB centers. The Sandoz-sponsored TB education film has been distributed to TB centers in all 536 districts under the National TB control Program. Previously, these districts did not have a film to share with patients on TB and the DOTS strategy.

Sandoz Global TB, based in India, manufactures TB medicines at its Kalwe site and supplies them to the Indian Ministry of Health as well as the national TB programs of other countries.
