Pak Ou Caves & Elephant Bathing - Mekong River | Luang Prabang, Laos

Описание к видео Pak Ou Caves & Elephant Bathing - Mekong River | Luang Prabang, Laos

We got a chance to visit the wonderful Manifa Elephant Camp & Lodge near Luang Prabang in Laos. This time we bathed the elephants in the Mekong river and took a boat trip to the famous Pak Ou Caves. We got to see what daily life is like along the Mekong and spent the sunset on an island enjoying a wonderful BBQ!

Since 2008 the owner Bpai who has loved elephants ever since he was young, bought over 100 hectares of land to be able to look after retired worker elephants and give them a peaceful life here on Manifa camp.

The work he does here with the Mahouts aka 'elephant whisperers' who live alongside the elephants in the jungle and communicate with them through voice and touch is really something to see. What a great opportunity it was to see these animals being cared for so well and we even got a chance to feed and bathe the elephants ourselves!

The resort is recently renovated with bungalows overlooking the Mekong river and a lush swimming pool and gardens.

If you are in Laos near Luang Prabang, we would definitely recommend you stay at his beautiful resort and see these majestic animals for yourself!

Manifa travel also offer day trips and tours such as kayaking, boat cruises along the Mekong River to the famous Pak Ou Caves and more!
