Описание к видео Offa's Dyke Prayer Walk

A group of walkers, led by Daphne Godwin from the Ffald y Brenin Christian Retreat Centre and House of Prayer in North Pembrokeshire, Wales, prayer-walked the whole length of Offa's Dyke (176 miles) in May 2011.This short video (15' 15") records the events at the start of the walk in Prestatyn, North Wales, then at the mid-point in Knighton, Powys, Wales, and finally at the end point at Sedbury Cliffs overlooking the River Severn in the Forest of Dean, just outside Chepstow in England.
Offa's Dyke was the ancient border between England in Wales. Construction is believed to have started in 785 on the orders of Offa, who was the powerful ruler of the Anglian kingdom of Mercia.
