The sound of the largest songbird in the world

Описание к видео The sound of the largest songbird in the world

Common Ravens (Corvus corax) occur throughout the Northern Hemisphere and are considered to be the largest songbird in the world. Measuring about 60 cm (25 in) and weighing up to 1,5 kilo (3.3 lbs) makes these birds very impressive when compared to more common songbirds.
Common Ravens are thought to be among the smartest birds in the world and studies have shown they are even capable of combining cause and effect when looking for food.
Being smart and opportunistic makes them adaptable in finding food. Their main food source depends on the location of the birds and available food sources in the area. They often feed on carrion, but in regions where carrion is not readily available they will easily switch to active hunting as their main food source.
Common Ravens are known to be playful, both with other ravens, but they have even been documented playing with other species e.g. Wolves, Otters and dogs.
