Documentary the life and work of Harold "Doc" Edgerton from the mid 80s detailing his work on the electronic flash, or "strobe" lamp and high speed photography. Born in 1903 Fremont, Nebraska, Edgerton would become one of the most beloved and prolific scientist engineers at MIT in the 20th century; along with his company EG&G (Edgerton, Germeshausen, and Grier, Inc.) he invented techniques such as the rapatronic camera, enabling the visualization of events occurring on timescales of individual microseconds, unveiling intricate details of fast-moving objects and phenomena such as shock waves, fluid dynamics, ballistic trajectories, and nuclear weapons tests. His philosophy was "Work hard. Tell everyone everything you know. Close a deal with a handshake. Have fun!".
