Giving new life to an older Vintage Fuji Bike?

Описание к видео Giving new life to an older Vintage Fuji Bike?

Hello guys my name is Ben and this is bad bikes and today we are going to be fixing up this Fuji bike. It is a family friend's bike that just needs a tune up to get back into perfect working order. This bike has a chromoly steel frame, 26 inch wheels, Cantilever brakes, And a 21 speed Shimano Exage drive train. This is a vintage bike made around the 80’s. Altho on a whole this bike is pretty good, it does have one glaring problem, the bottom bracket seems to be wobbly, so that is something we will definitely need to fix.

This bike is pretty dirty so let's clean this bike off. One of my favorite parts of working on a bike is cleaning it. It makes the bike look like it was just bought at a bike shop. After I was done with the cleaning part it was time to do something very important, remove the dork disk. This piece of plastic is supposed to help keep the chain on track but if the bike is in proper working order you don't need it. In my opinion it just makes the bike look dirty.

Now it is time to put some new meat on these tires. The honer wanted something a little skinnier but also got a more grip and I was like I have exactly what we need. So I slapped those babies on and man do they look good. I also added some new grips for comfort.

Next was the bottom bracket. I did not know exactly what was wrong but I had a pretty good idea. Let's start by taking the whole thing apart. Now let's clean the stuff. Ok there's nothing else to do but to put it all back together. Well surprisingly it works like brand new. The shifting and the brakes only needed slight adjustments, nothing big. It is time to work on the important stuff, the details…

Wow! This bike is looking awesome. I think there's only one thing left to do… Take it for a test ride. The bike feels smooth and flowy. It is just an all around fun bike to ride. It makes me want to buy one for myself. So if you have an old bike that does not run well, take it apart and have some fun trying to fix it. Most of the time these bikes just need a little love and care. As always my name is ben and this is Bad bikes and I will see you in the next video.
God Bless
