Welcome back to Proge Protocol. Tonight I'm sharing something different - "The Monster I Made," a dark bardcore ballad told from the perspective of a monster hunter haunted by his past.

This track tells the tragic story of a witcher-like figure who, in trying to save someone he cared about, accidentally transformed them into the very monster he now must hunt. It's a deeply personal confession about guilt, consequence, and the weight of our choices.

Musically, I wanted to capture that intimate, campfire storytelling feel of bardcore - rough, weathered vocals over fingerpicked acoustic guitar. This isn't polished or pretty; it's meant to sound like a man unburdening his conscience to strangers around a fire, carrying years of regret in every word.

The story follows the hunter as he reveals how his attempt to cure Anna's fever with forbidden magic went terribly wrong, transforming her into a creature he must now mercy-kill. It's about taking responsibility for the monsters we create, both literal and metaphorical.

This is a stylistic departure from my epic metal tracks, showing the more vulnerable, human side of the fantasy hero archetype. Sometimes the most heroic thing isn't slaying the monster - it's facing what you've done and making it right.

The bardcore style fits perfectly with my broader fantasy music exploration and connects to the storytelling elements I'm developing for my game projects. Both focus on the complex moral choices that define these characters.
