Midsummer is such a magickal time, there is so much joy and happiness in the air that you can feel the earth celebrating with you. The rites rituals and traditions for Litha (the Summer Solstice) are simple and bright, a bonfire, a feast, a coven initiation anyone? My last coven was initiated at beltaine so this festival is just for fun. No renewals or intiations during the festivities. As a traditional witch I do enjoy getting back to nature, and this is one of my favourite times to do so, as I (like a butterfly) hide during the cold and rain, and only show my wings when the sun is shining.
