An end-user out of Michigan inquired in because they were looking for a more efficient way to tap parts coming off a waterjet and a CNC.

They needed an arm that could handle tapping half inch up to three quarter inch holes in 2-inch thick aluminum. They sent in some material and we went ahead and performed the tap test using both a pneumatic and a hydraulic tapping arm.

We used both arms so they could see the speed difference between the RNR and GH-24.

The RNR on the low gear you are limited to 100 RPM while on the GH-24 you have the independent control where you can tap up to 500 RPM. We started with the RNR-20 pneumatic arm and tapped the half-inch and three quarter inch hole with no problem at all.

Next, we moved over to the GH-24 hydraulic arm and tapped the remaining holes at a slightly faster speed. Both arms performed as expected and the end-user liked what they saw, so they went ahead and purchased the pneumatic RNR-20 tapping arm.
