An OCS On Course Start requires the yacht go back and restart- deadly in time, position, leverage, everything. Preventing this from happening is very very important- it didn't happen this time happy happy joy joy.
It is most desirable be climbing and at max speed and point at the start- some got to the line early and were turning down paralleling it- others failed to get their speed and point going despite being somewhat alone and unmolested.
Skipper's actions brought out multiple WTF's from Cordial Positive Eric- and I wholly concurred. The line was so long it permitted that huge dip around 1:30 from the start, with time to get our mo' on. Good time and good (minimal) communication kept Skipper focused on his Winning Start.
