Two-Day National Seminar
on
“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Contributions to National Security and Nationalism”

The Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), in collaboration with the Strategic Culture and Security Foundation, Pune, is organizing a two-day national seminar sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, on the theme “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Contributions to National Security and Nationalism.”

The seminar is being आयोजित on the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, whose decisive leadership played a pivotal role in the political integration of India and in laying the foundations of national unity, internal security, and administrative strength.

The seminar aims to critically examine Sardar Patel’s vision of nationalism, his approach to national security, state integration, civil services, and his enduring relevance in contemporary strategic and security discourse. Scholars, academicians, researchers, and students from across the country will deliberate on Patel’s legacy and its significance for modern India.

The Keynote Address will be delivered by Prof. Dilip Mohite, Former Dean, Faculty of Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, a distinguished academician and scholar.
