Building bigger biceps is partly about finding the right exercises to elicit growth, but it is mostly about how you train. Hypertrophy requires time, consistency, and proper technique.
Ultimately, hypertrophy is all about exposing your muscles to more load than they have previously dealt with. This can be achieved by performing more reps than usual, lifting a heavier weight, or increasing the difficulty of the exercise in some other way.
Finding the correct rep range is important, but contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to stay within the 8-12 rep ranges. Hypertrophy can be achieved with a variety of rep ranges, particularly if you are new to lifting.
