In the late 90's aircraft designer Larry French imagined what the iconic Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing might have been if Walter Beech had been around 50 years later. French used composite materials and created a modern version of the biplane. It was sold as a kit, and six were made. The kits are no longer being made or sold.
