Описание к видео What Is a Saddle Notch Lock? The Cabin Joinery Mountain Men Used to Build Walls That Never Shifted

You're standing in the middle of nowhere. No hardware store. No
nails. No screws. No metal brackets. Just you, an axe, and a forest
full of trees. And you need to build a cabin that won't collapse when
the snow piles six feet high on the roof, when the wind screams
down from the mountains at 60 miles per hour, when the ground
freezes and thaws and shifts beneath the foundation. You need walls
that lock together so tight that they'll still be standing 200 years
from now.
How do you do it?
My name is Sam and this is Wild America.
