Thank you for joining me for 'Rides Through Time 8'. Not all went to plan, as I had hoped to send the drone up to see if I could find the remains of the roman fort. Unfortunately the wind was too high to fly at the top of the hill. I did manage to fly it around the viaduct at the end though.

Calstock is a very pretty village beside the river Tamar, in the Tamar Valley. The Tamar Valley is a designated 'Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB) and is rich in history. There are several ports along the Tamar including Morwellham Quay, Cothele, and Halton Quay. I visited Halton Quay a long time ago in this video:    • Classic 500 - Flying visit to Halton ...  

I think the viaduct makes Calstock a particularly interesting place to visit, as well as the picturesque village clinging to the steep hillside. The tiny alleyways and long history make it a delightful place to poke around.
