SHAMEL

A goan folk instrument made of Jackfruit wood with a goat skin on top gives a beautiful tone which compliments the Ghumat and Kasale when played together.

Mostly used together with Ghumat and kasale in folk songs of Goa and Ghumat Aartis.

We can interpret any bols to the sound of shamel like... Taka taka.. Tada tada.. Tak -Takarakka.. Taka Tana taka tana.. Tana we can assume as the bol when we play on the kaat(edge)

Can be played on three different places or areas of the skin.. The Hole skin area / Half skin area/ and the Edge.

So create and play your own style of play..
Good luck.👍
