I was provided with a key by the developer to try the game out at no cost to me. This fact does not in any way alter my opinion of the game. I was not asked to give a positive review or refrain from being critical of the game. All opinions in this video are my own.

Description:
Academia : School Simulator is a management game that lets you design, construct, and manage the high school of your dreams! As the school Principal, watch your students as they get bullied, find love, flunk exams, and basically just try to get through the roller-coaster ride that is high school. Will you offer the best teachers and facilities or cheap out and build giant classrooms with a 1:100 student to teacher ratio? It's all up to you!

Academia is being developed by Squeaky Wheel, an indie PC game studio based in the Philippines. Their members have worked on games such as Prison Architect, Spacechem, and Order and Chaos : Duels. They released their first game called Political Animals last year.

Current Features:
The game is fully playable and has enough mechanics to keep you busy through a few in-game school years. Systems, like cooking, cleaning, hygiene, hunger, etc are already complete. There isn't a full fledged tutorial but a simpler to-do list system that guides the player on what to do. There are basic sound effects and music, and more will be added as time progresses.

Roadmap
There are many features that are still being designed that will make the final game much more complete and full featured than the current version of the game. These include:

Deeper and more complex staff and students
Research tree and/or school specialization
Subject scheduling
Sports
Truancy, delinquency, bullying, and other serious issues that schools deal with
School Prestige, and competing with others for the “Best School”
Scenarios
Random Events
Mod support

The final list of features will ultimately depend in the feedback that we get. We cannot promise we'll be able to have all these features in the game, what's important is we get to work on the features that the community wants.
