How to dissociate the low back from the hips and upper back

Описание к видео How to dissociate the low back from the hips and upper back

What are dissociative exercises? Dissociative exercises aims to reduce regional interdependence, more commonly known as movement compensations. These types of exercises aid in one's journey to recovery through the reduction of aggravating movements. In other words, by reducing how often you put your body into sensitive ranges, the less sensitive your body gets. More than anything, the general goal of dissociative exercises is NOT to eliminate movement compensations, but to TEMPORARILY reduce these movements to allow a period of recovery to occur.

In other circumstances, the goal of dissociative exercises is to bring more body awareness to a dysfunctional region in the body. In this regard, these exercises can be considered to be proprioceptive in nature. Dissociative exercises aim to isolate a single muscle group or joint to give your body full independent control. That said, the goal isn't to always move in this manner as the body's movements work as a cohesive system. Instead, its about developing control and mastery over your range of motion.
