Former FBI Director James Comey, fired by President Donald Trump on May 9, testifies Thursday before the Senate Intelligence Committee. It is Comey’s first public testimony since he was forced from the top job at the FBI. Comey is expected to be questioned about conversations he had with President Trump about the investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s contact with Russians and about the broader investigation into Russia’s attempt to meddle in the 2016 election. Comey also might be asked about the circumstances of his firing, and about media reports that he asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to help him avoid private meetings with Trump. The former director could be asked about how he handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation, too.
