MYOG Ultralight Rain Jacket - Chilly Bin Hikes

I have decided that I would like to try and get a set of backpacking gear which is as close to 100% home made as I can. Some things I know won't be possible, but I'm going to try and see how much I can make.

In this video I made a long pullover rain jacket. I started with the Green Pepper Women's Coast Range Anorak pattern and edited it a little bit to get the sizing and features I wanted. This project took be around 7hrs to complete over several days, with extra time to allow the seam sealer to dry. I'm very happy with the fit and final finish. The completed seam sealed jacket weighs 108g (3.8oz) on my kitchen scale and kept me dry when I stood under full water pressure in the shower. I can't wait to be able to go outside and try it out.
