Hiking from Säntis to Wasserauen Part 3 (Rotsteinpass to Meglisalp Pt 1) | July 2022【4K】

Join me on the third part of an invigorating #ASMR #hike from the summit of Säntis to Wasserauen in the Alpstein massif a group of peaks in the Appenzell Innerrhoden, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and St. Gallen cantons.

The full hike takes us from the weather station on the summit of Säntis (2,500m) across a narrow ridge to the alpine guest house at Rotsteinpass and then down a glacial valley to the alpine village of Meglisalp, before we follow another ridge path, past Seealpsee to the huts of Grosshutte and Kleinhutte before descending to our final destination in the village of Wasserauen.

In this third part of the hike, we continue from where we left off in the second video, at the Rotsteinpass guest house and make our way towards the Alpine settlement of Meglisalp.

After passing the guest house at Rotsteinpass, we can see the valleys to the other side of it. At this lower altitude, we are now below the thicker clouds and can see the true scale of these glacial valleys and the towering mountains that surround them.

Our path in this video takes along the side of one of the valleys as we slowly descend towards the high Alpine settlement of Meglisalp. As we descend, the scenery gets greener as we enter the high Alpine pastures where we see cows graying amongst the fallen boulders.

We finish this video part of the way down the side of the valley, with Rotsteinpass far behind and above us.
