So, the big thing about this level is that there's an alley straight north, and then there's a castle you can wander into.

The castle is certainly faster to go through, but there's a lot more resistance, especially with mages. The alley isn't as bad, but there's a lot of wyverns and one druid with long ranged magic.

So, it's not the best way either way.
