💥Key considerations

Drainage: In the video, the bottle cap is tightly screwed on. However, onions are very susceptible to rot if the soil is too wet. You should drill 2-3 small holes in the bottle cap to allow excess water to drain out, helping the roots to breathe better.

Growing medium: Use loose soil, mixed with a little coconut fiber or organic fertilizer to help the onions grow quickly and healthily.

Hanging location: Hang the onions in a place with plenty of sunlight (at least 4-6 hours/day) so the leaves grow long and dark.

Bottle cutting edges: When cutting plastic bottles, the edges are often very sharp. You can use a lighter to lightly heat the edges or apply a layer of colored tape to avoid cutting your hands while caring for them.

Stability: Ensure the hanging string or bamboo pole is strong enough to withstand the weight when the soil gets wet after each watering.
