Deep inside the forests of Dharakote block in Ganjam, lies a cluster of villages where life has stood still for decades. In Kotinee Ganda and nearby hamlets like Ashok Palli, Pili Padar, Gochha Guda and Naktiri, more than 40 families survive without basic facilities.

Here, the only pathway is a stone-and-mud track, and for the sick, a cot becomes the ambulance. Children walk nearly 7 km through forests just to access schooling. Ration, health services and even government officials struggle to reach these remote habitations.

Despite being part of Odisha, development has never touched these villages. Forest on both sides, danger around every turn and no proper road — this is the harsh reality people live with every day.
