Chief Mechanical Engineering Department Sri Lanka Railways Rathmalana, Ausbesserungswerk Colombo

As part of the economic exchange of interests, our delegation visited the Chief Mechanical Engineering Department Sri Lanka Railways Rathmalana in the south of the capital Colombo. The staff were very open-minded, friendly and encouraged and animated us to record and take photos. The shown and joined video sequences were all taken in the hall of the chassis and axle inspection, maintenance and repair. The German train workmanship is still eminently respected and the employees proudly presented the chassis of a Henschel diesel locomotive, which they are currently working on (film sections 3 + 4). Unfortunately, the light conditions in the hall were not the best for recording. The afternoon sun was already too low and covered a lot in the opposite light or reflects. But in contrast to the European or American offices, where the shady-loving characters must always sit at the window, the guys let the sun in and not blinds down, neon lights on.

ELK092793, Kategorie Besichtigung Instandhaltung Fahrzeuge und Züge: im Zuge des wirtschaftlichen Interessenaustausches wurde auch das Eisenbahn Ausbesserungswerk Rathmalana der Sri Lanka Eisenbahnen im Süden der Hauptstadt Colombo besucht. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr aufgeschlossen, freundlich und haben zum Filmen in der Werkshalle aufgefordert und animiert. Die gezeigten Aufnahmen entstanden einzig in der Halle der Fahrgestelle und Achsen Inspektion, Wartung und Ausbesserung. Ganz besonders hoch angesehen ist noch immer die deutsche Wertarbeit und die Mitarbeiter haben stolz das Fahrgestell einer Henschel-Diesellokomotive präsentiert, welches sie gerade bearbeiten. Zum Filmen eigneten sich die Lichtverhältnisse in der Halle leider nicht. Am Nachmittag stand die Sonne schon zu tief und hüllte viel ins Gegenlicht oder spiegelte. Aber im Gegensatz zum deutschen Büro, wo das lichtscheue Gesindel immer am Fenster sitzen muss, man lässt die Sonne herein und nicht Jalousie runter, Neonlicht an.

Como parte del intercambio económico de intereses ferroviarios, nuestra delegación visitó el taller de mantenimiento de los Ferrocarriles de Sri Lanka en la capital Colombo. Todas secuencias mostran la sala de inspección de los trenes, reparos y mantenimiento de las locomotoras y reparación de chasis y ejes.
Como parte do intercâmbio econômico de interesses, nossa delegação visitou o departamento principal de Engenharia Mecânicadas Ferrovias do Sri Lanka, a oficina de manutenção ferroviária em Rathmalana, no sul da capital Colombo. As partes do film foram todas tiradas na sala do chassi e inspeção, manutenção e reparo dos eixos. A obra alemã ainda é respeitada e os funcionários apresentaram com orgulho o chassi de uma locomotiva a diesel Henschel.
