The Incredible Discovery Of A Rare Blue Chalcedony Jasper

An incredible discovery during this rockhounding adventure....what a gem- a truly special jasper with blue chalcedony that will take your breath away. This rock hunt is full of spectacular jasper and agate finds. At the end, I clean off a few rocks at the river that I didn't have time to show you while I found them. One is an UNBELIEVABLE piece of agatized Palm wood. My first thought was a humongous palm-like tree, but on my way home I was wavering and thinking perhaps coral? So...I busted out the microscope. Definitely wood! It was full of a type of cell known as tracheid cells. They make up the transportation system for water to get from the roots to the leaves. This piece is so stunning. You can see blue chalcedony/agate all throughout. Up close, every one of those blue filled holes is full of agate banding. I consider this piece of wood a find of a lifetime!

Then, if that large, green and multicolored jasper wasn't enough, the yellow conglomerate-patterned jasper full of montana agate... what???!!!! INSANE. Another unbelievable find right there.
