Acceptance Sampling is an essential skill for quality professionals. Building this skill is a confidence booster for the quality professional and a great value for their organization. These methods are broadly applicable in manufacturing and R&D and especially valuable in regulated industries like medical device, pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics.
Skill at acceptance sampling requires understanding of many terms and acronyms: AQL, RQL, LTPD, P(Acceptance), proportion defective, OC Curve, alpha, beta and more. In addition to learning about this terminology, webinar participants will gain understanding of common misconceptions and appropriate uses of acceptance sampling. The calculations used in acceptance sampling rely on binomial and normal-distribution probabilities and can be carried out with spreadsheets and with software such as Minitab. Recommendations for building sampling plans with strong statistical rationale will be shared to provide a strong foundation for quality performance.

Learning Objectives / Takeaways
1: Understand the terminology, common misconceptions, and appropriate uses of acceptance sampling
2: Learn how to use spreadsheets and software tools like Minitab to evaluate the protection of a sampling plan
3: Apply a strategy for choosing an acceptance sampling plan that has strong statistical rationale
