Bridgerton Season 4 Episode 7 REACTION | "The Beyond"

Syntell and Mikel-Claire are back in the Ton for the penultimate episode of Bridgerton Season 4 — and "The Beyond" is all grief, growth, and a gut-punch of a cliffhanger. We open at John's funeral, the first full funeral we've ever seen in the Ton, and it does not miss. Francesca's pregnancy turns out not to be real. Violet has her long-overdue aha moment when Benedict calls her out for her hypocrisy — and she finally gives him her blessing. Michaela brings a Scottish Highland celebration to a house that had no idea what to do with it. Sophie gets a job with a family heading to the Americas, which feels like a lifeline.

And then Lady Penwood's stepmother has Sophie arrested for the shoe clips. At the docks. As Benedict runs to find her.

The review goes deep: why the penultimate episode chose grief over the main couple and what that says about the season, the pinky touch scene, whether Violet is a hypocrite or a protector (Syntell and Mikel-Claire respectfully disagree), Lady Mena using her own pain as a weapon against her daughter — which Mikel-Claire says is not redeemable — and both hosts already dreading the Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte goodbye that's coming in the finale. Plus: Will and Alice are still the weakest storyline. They didn't forget.
