As you know last week was an International Women’s Day. Reenita Das published a very interesting article at Forbes about gender equality as an important determinant of health.
Article contains a lot of interesting materials and facts that can be interesting for you. For example, the female economy will be bigger than the economy of China and the United States by 2020. The global income of women was estimated to be worth $18 trillion in 2018, which is almost equivalent to the US GDP. But at the same time of all the funding for research and development for healthcare products and services in the world, only 4% is invested in women’s health.

SDG Impact Investment Forum will take place 28th March in Minsk, Belarus. The Forum is designed to stimulate social impact investment growth and support active engagement of the business community into SDG achievement.

In Russia. The State Duma adopted the bill of social entrepreneurship in the first reading.
In the bill social entrepreneurship is allocated as independent priority sphere of activity of subjects of small and average business. According to the text of the bill, social ventures provides employment of vulnerable categories of citizens (the disabled people, parents with multiple children, graduates of orphanages, pensioners etc. The amount of such workers has to be not less than 50% and a share in wage fund— not less than 25%. Social ventures also provides access of the goods (works and services) made by socially vulnerable groups to sales market.
Also the bill provides several types of support for social entrepreneurs by public authorities and local governments.
