India's telco subscribers will have to pay more for their plans, with hikes ranging from 15% to 40%. The country's three largest service providers are raising the cost of their mobile plans. This is the first price hike in more than three years, since the entry of Reliance Jio into the market sparked a price war. Adding to troubles -- a ruling by the Supreme Court in October mandated that companies must pay higher fees to the government. The telco price war has driven data charges down in India, where one gigabyte of data costs US$0.26 on average, as compared to US$12 in the US.
