阿茲海默症是最普遍的老人失智症，由於患者會漸漸喪失記憶和生活自理能力，往往造成家屬和照護者很大的生理和心理負擔。因此如何早期發現、早期治療，一直是醫學專家努力的目標之一。洪姮娥教授和她的團隊從奈米技術出發，研究出全球首創的免疫磁減量檢測方式，只要透過簡單的抽血程序，就能檢測出阿茲海默症的早期症狀。

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is the most common form of dimentia. It is a condition that slowly causes abnormal changes in the brain's memory, reasoning and decision-making abilities. Scientists and medical researchers have been investigating ways to cure this disease, or at least waysto detect its early onset. Horng's research team has made significant process in early testing of AD through a simple blood test. In this talk, she shares the basic concept behind this technology, and why she has dedicated 20 years of her research to make this happen.

洪姮娥教授是一位超導電子研究學家，她將超導原理運用在感測生物標記的關鍵研究。她領軍台灣師範大學光電研究所的研究團隊，花了將近二十年的時間，與台大醫院進行合作，開發出「磁減量免疫檢測技術」。

Herng Er Horng is a superconductivity researcher whose research team has successfully developed a new method for early screening of Alzheimer's Disease. This breakthrough research is made possible through a collaborative effort from Horng's research team at the National Taiwan Normal University's Institute of Electro-Optical Science and Technology as well as research physicians at the National Taiwan University Hospital.
