That's right, it is used in one place and its for Angels not humans. Notice how Tartarus is Greek? In the greek myth the Titans are sent to Tartarus...to be bound in chains. Aha, yeah. This is where we see greek culture start to influence the Bible writers.

Hell is not really an idea in the bible, in fact there are four words that were translated to one generic "Hell' a full 56 times in the KJV actually. The first to really drive this point home even though the words have their own meanings. Sheol, Gehenna, Hades, and Tartarus are all used for specific context and none of them look like the modern 'hell' that is popularized today.

Hell was and is a metaphor in the Bible, this series will walk through it step by step explaining the definitions and origin of the Hebrew words and Second Temple Jewish beliefs. Think about it, not only does eternal conscious torment not seem logical, more importantly it doesn't seem LOVING.

This is a HOT TAKE, I get it. But I ask that you debate kindly. Especially if you consider yourself a Christian. Really really be open to researching this topic. Men use hell as a fear tactic to control you, when the Bible and Jesus had a very different aspect. Hell is on earth.
