I once had a PPROM. What's the chance of it happening again?

PPROM, or preterm premature rupture of membranes, is when your water breaks before you're 37 weeks and you're not in labor. This actually happens normally about 4% of the time and accounts for a third of preterm deliveries. If this happens to you once, the chances are actually higher that it will happen again - 13% for someone who has had it happen versus 4% for someone who has never had it happen. There are definitely things you want to look for in the next pregnancy. You want to watch for your water breaking, and if that's happened to you before, you know what might happen again. You may have a leaking of fluid or sometimes you feel a gush, but most of the time, it's just a leaking of fluid, and if you ever experience this, definitely call your doctor and get checked out to see if it's happening again. I hope that everything goes well with your pregnancies, and if you have any questions for me, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page, and recommend us to your friends and family too.
