Osorkon I, son of Sheshonq I and his wife (Krumat-a, Sekhem-kheper-re), was the second king of Egypt of the Twenty-second Dynasty, ruling from about 922-887 BC.

The reign of Osorkon I was marked by many temple construction projects and was a long and prosperous period in the history of Egypt.

He was able to establish the foundations of the system established by his father Sheshonq, and established his headquarters near Lahun.

The inscriptions and capitals of the columns at Tell Basta testify to the extent of the decorative elements of the headquarters that the Twenty-second Dynasty took.

He also furnished the temples in Heliopolis with luxurious furnishings, and his statue found in Byblos confirms the close relations he established with Lebanon.
