1957 MGA Coupe Restoration 2 Inspection and Tear Down

Fenders, doors and trunk/hood are off and in easy to reach storage. So are the floor boards. Having gone through this car closely, I am freaking delighted to see almost NO cancer. There is plenty of surface rust, but that's an hour's worth of easy removal per panel. I'm talking little to no structural rot, and so far, little evidence of frame rust. Given an easy work schedule and no more travel, I could have this thing stripped in a month, maybe a bit more.

I'm looking back on my roadster renovation, and remembering many many MANY hours of frame repair, body repair, fender repair, paint stripping, etc etc etc, tons of fabrication and re-welding ... hell, I must have had a thou$and $$ in welding gas, wire and associated metal alone, no kidding. I see little to no evidence of that being necessary on this car. Looks like my big heavy hitter work will be in the engine (likely an upgrade from the current 1500 cc, though eventual replacement is still in consideration) and any work necessary to mount it correctly.

Anyone want to buy an MGA 1500?
