We All Know These are Good (Do I need to review them?) Caran D'ache Luminance Pencils

Hi, friends! I bought these pencils over a year ago and they are exquisite. They are also rather pricey so I use them sparingly. The price has recently come down on these so I thought I might post a quick review incase anyone was curious about my opinion when considering a set. Currently, Blick has a set of 76 for $176. 94 with open-stock pencils for $3.46. I think I paid around $189 for my set, it was $219 but I had a coupon and I felt that it was a nice deal so this is even better. I think the price dropped when the 100 set came out.

Pros:
All colors are 100% lightfast
Open stock availabe
Highly pigmented
Gorgeous protective packaging
Slow wearing leads

Cons:
Price (although they wear much more slowly due to the harder lead so if you compared color payout to budget pencil I bet it would be comparable in price and you get a lightfast product so this might not me fair.)

Bottom line: If you have the money and want a lightfast pencil they are fabulous. They are a bit on the hard side but it doesn't take much pressure to get good coverage. Since I have a lot of other (cheaper) options I save these for when I need a lightfast pencil but I think they are pretty cost-effective in the long run.
