Ugly side of food | Keira Elko | TEDxYouth@CanadianAcademy

Описание к видео Ugly side of food | Keira Elko | TEDxYouth@CanadianAcademy

In a country like Japan, where visual aesthetics are highly valued, food insecurity is masked by perfect produce. Drawing from personal experiences and research, Keira Elko explores "The Ugly Side of Food," hoping to inspire audiences to rethink their consumer choices by embracing the often-discarded imperfect produce. She continues to use her digital art and game coding skills to actively increase awareness and raise funds for local soup kitchens both in Kobe and Osaka. Outside of her advocacy work, she enjoys scuba diving, learning about animal sciences, as well as engaging in MUN debates. Keira, a freshman at Canadian Academy, is deeply committed to addressing issues surrounding food insecurity—from homelessness, to poverty, to food waste. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
