What is a CARBON FOOTPRINT? How to calculate and reduce it? | Climate change

Описание к видео What is a CARBON FOOTPRINT? How to calculate and reduce it? | Climate change

The idea of a personal carbon footprint was popularized by a large advertising campaign of the fossil fuel company BP in 2005. This piece of propaganda was designed to shift the responsibility of carbon emissions from the company to the public.

📝 Erratum: @3:30 the vertical axis of the graph should read "CO2 concentration" not temperatures, and the voice-over should say "CO2 concentration in the atmosphere is the highest it has ever been in 400,000." Temperature will follow but fortunately, they are not there yet.

In this whiteboard animation, I explain what we mean by carbon footprint (definition), how it is calculated, why we need to reduce it and how to reduce it with lots of examples. I also suggest 3 carbon footprint calculators you can use:
If you are in the United States: https://coolclimate.org/calculator
If you are in the United Kingdom: https://footprint.wwf.org.uk/#/
If you are anywhere else: https://www.carbonfootprint.com/calcu...
