Efforts continued on Tarsonis to weed out Executor Tassadar's remaining forces. Meanwhile, the zerg had acquired Sarah Kerrigan and wrapped her in a chrysalis for her transformation into a zerg agent.

The Overmind created a new cerebrate whose sole purpose was to protect the chrysalis.

Daggoth of the Tiamat Brood taught the young cerebrate how to construct and maintain a hive cluster. Then Zasz, another cerebrate, of the Garm Brood informed the new cerebrate of a small band of Terran Confederacy remnants in the area. The young cerebrate was ordered to destroy these terrans in order to ensure the safety of the chrysalis and the hive cluster. The young cerebrate easily defeated the terrans.
